Those who love the nature would love everything that reminds them of the wonderful creations of the nature, too. And that’s possibly the main reason why we love the “Bloom Lamp” designed by Patrick Jouin. Yaps, the lamp has simulated a beautiful flower—when in use, it gradually transforms from a bud to a blooming flower to release the light; and when not in use, the lamp then closes its petals to regain the shape of the bud.

The Arbol Lamps

The Arbol Lamps are no ordinary lamps. Emiliani Godoy along with Alejandro Castro and Alejandro Machorro won the 2007 National Design Biennial in Mexico City for these exquisite lamps. These lamps employ modular light emitting diode boards. These lamps resemble tree trunks and branches, and the distribution of work among these so called branches is what gives this design its strength.

There are eight branches joined to the main trunk. And these trunks are arranged in a radial fashion which balances the whole structure. This unique structure allows a three dimensional distribution of light from the light emitting diodes.

MODULAR LED LIGHTING: SHY LIGHT FROM MATTER

Bec Brittain has designed the SHY Light, a modular LED lighting fixture for the company Matter. Named after the designer's grandmother, the fixture is a play of lines and triangular forms inspired by the Brittain's prior study of "crystalline structures". The SHY lighting uses custom nickel plated brass hardware with criss-crossing LED tube lights installed along the fixture's framing. The entire design is modular and can be arranged into any shape. It can be displayed in virtually any lighting form, too; the SHY Light can also be used as a hanging lamp, a floor light, and even a wall-mounted fixture. Georgian designer Ia Kutateladze designed a series of three lamps that make up the Foldy Lamp Family.

The Foldy Table Lamp is a simple metal lamp with a flexible design so that it can be folded over. Perfect for a bedside lamp or desktop task lighting. It can be made in different colors.

Foldy Floor Lamp comes with easily foldable legs on a wooden base, an element seen through the whole series.

The arms of the Foldy Chandelier can be moved into many different shapes. Four separate metal pendants can be folded and rotated at various angles to highlight specific spaces.
